Cleaning & Maintenance FAQs

General Cleaning

Making sure that you have a regular and thorough cleaning schedule for your CPAP machine and mask is essential. This will ensure that your CPAP therapy does not cause or contribute to any health issues. Regular cleaning and checks of your CPAP machine and mask also ensure longevity of the equipment saving you extra $$$ in the long-run.

How do I clean my machine?

Unplug your machine from power source.

Water chamber- Remember to change the water daily. It is recommended to use either distilled, filtered or demineralised water in your humidifier. At least once a week wash the chamber with warm soapy water using a toothbrush to give it a gentle scrub. Rinse clean with water. It is also recommended to use white vinegar to soak and remove any residue build up as required.

Tubing- At least once a week clean your tubing in warm soapy water. Rinse clean with water and hang it to air-dry.

Please note: DO NOT hang in direct sunlight.

Filter-The filter should be replaced approximately every 3-6 months.

At least once a week wipe down the inside (where the water chamber sits) and outside of the machine with alcohol wipes.

How do I clean my mask?

At least once a week wash your mask in warm soapy water. To do this adequately disassemble the mask and wash each part thoroughly. Rinse clean with water and place them to air-dry.
